Did you know that Solveig is pronounced Sol-vey, and is a very common Norwegian name? Under her maiden name Leithaug, pronounced Light-houg, she had two worldwide releases; “In the World”, 1986 and “First Step”, 1988 on Day Spring, WORD. Sorry, but these two projects are completely out of print!
MORE ABOUT “WORSHIP YOU” - IN SOLVEIGS OWN WORDS Since my late teens, my guitar and songs have been steady companions (on occasion I may borrow a nice piano). When looking back, I am amazed at the many delightful opportunities I have been given to meet and work with some very gifted people. Tore W. Aas, being one of them, wound up producing Worship You, (and its Norwegian version Tilbe Deg) along with two of my earlier releases: The Way of the Wind & Vindens Veg (1994-95). He again gathered some very talented young musicians for the recording at the comfortable Musikk Loftet Studios in Oslo, who gave their wholehearted creative contributions, making the studio time inspiring and wonderfully memorable. The musical style of “Worship You” has been dubbed by critics as “café jazz”, but I think you will also find I have “flirted unashamedly” with elements of pop, country and rock, gently mixed in an open acoustic sound.
I want to give a special thanks to the following: Karl Oluf Wennerberg on drums, Hallvard M.Aase on bass, Bernt Rune Stray on guitars, Torjus Vierli on keyboards, Wurlitzer & piano, and Arild Stav on saxophone. Beautiful and talented twins Ingelin and Hildegunn Garnes Reigstad, (Garnessmusic.com) did the fine back ground vocals. (They come from my home town Frekhaug, located on an island just north of Bergen, on Norway’s majestic West Coast. Keep your ears open for more from these girls!)
Thanks to Dave Bruce, Authentic Records in London, England and Eric Nordhoff, Go Global in Nashville, TN, I have been offered my first worldwide deal since having two early international releases, with the albums In the World and First Step with Day Spring, WORD in 1986 and 1988. Together, Dave and Eric have mapped out an amazing 30 or more nations on 5 continents that will be offering Worship You in the fall of 2006. These include: United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Latin America, Australia, Cyprus, Dubai, Greece, Kenya, Israel, Malta, Nigeria, Singapore, South Africa, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland and South Africa.
My most sincere thanks to all of you who have cheered me on throughout the years between the international contracts, when I just kept singing, writing and recording as an independent artist, as the songs kept coming. However, it was the appreciation communicated by many that helped me believe that my time was not up yet. When recording Worship You, I actually didn’t know this album would find its way to all these amazing nations. I only knew that its songs were written from real life, in times of tests and trials, with hopes it would somehow connect with people, and bring some glory to the Lord. So without a label or financial backing for this English version, by faith, my husband Ken encouraged me to go for it after all (Darling, thank you).
Living back in the USA now, I am thrilled at the opportunity to shoot two music videos this fall from the CDs opening cut, “All The Way to Heaven” and the piano ballade “Everything Has Its Season”, with the help of award winning producers Dan and Raven Rubottom, Epiphany Productions, (Third Day, David Crowder Band, Jacquie Velasquez, and others.) The locations for the shoots were the marvelous beaches of Malibu, CA and the mountainous majestic Edwards, CO. Hopefully they will be ready for airing by the end of November.
All the best to you, dear visitor - whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you may be going through!
Feel free to pop me an email with your comments, stories, prayer request or questions.
Grace and peace,
Solveig Colorado Springs, Colorado

Cover me until this storm blows over Hide me in the shadows of Your wings So I’ll rest just like a little chicken Safe beneath the loving Mother Hen Safe beneath the loving Mother Hen
Lord, You are my own tornado shelter Lord, You are my safest hiding place So I’ll sing this song of adoration For Your hand is not too short to save No, Your hand is not too short to save
Chorus: So here’s my hallelujah From the eye of the storm Glory hallelujah You’ve never failed me before So here’s my hallelujah Lord, Your Presence is my saving grace In the eye of the storm
Lord, the winds are howling all around me Lord, You know I’m shaken to the core But my eyes keep gazing up to Calvary Where You whipped my enemies before Where You whipped my enemies before
So here’s my hallelujah… At All TimesLyrics: © Solveig L. Henderson, 2004 Music: © Solveig L. Henderson, 2004 (Daniel 6;10, Psalm 55; 17-18, Phil. 4; 6-7)

Praise You in the good times Praise You in the bad times Praise You just for who You are You are worthy in the good times Worthy in the bad times Worthy just for who You are You are worthy at all times
Praise You Praise You You are good at all times Everything Has Its SeasonLyrics: © Solveig L. Henderson, 1989 Music: © Solveig L. Henderson, 1989 I lovingly dedicate this song to my dear friend and former manager Joy Thomason, who has been a tireless source of encouragement to me. During our last visit together at a Los Angeles hospital the week before this recording production began, she made a point to urge me to include this very song. As a young woman, I wrote this song, and also sang it at my wedding, you see. It always bugged Joy that it somehow never made a recording before. The day before we went in the studio, Joy passed on to Glory. She is greatly missed.
Spring comes after winter after all The farmer gets his harvest in the fall He who sets the time and sets the beat Gives us time to sow and time to reap
He endures who wants to win the prize Children fall asleep to lullabies He who sets the time and sets the beat Gives us time to fight and time to sleep
A season for dancing A season for crying A season for living And there’s also a season for dying Everything has it’s time Has it’s time
Many girls prepare to be a bride Hope and wait for someone at her side Soon the timeless wedding feast When the groom will be the King of Kings
But yet there is a Season for dancing, A season for crying A season for living And there’s also a season for dying Everything has it’s time Has it’s time Army of CompassionLyrics: © Solveig L. Henderson Music: © Solveig L. Henderson (Originally written for our ministry Soldiers for Jesus’ faithful volunteer army for the Christmas Banquet December 10, 2002)
There’s an army of compassion That arises in the land, Whose hearts have been awakened to the needs of fellow man And to the heart that’s been enlightened Every colour is the same Every life is just as priceless Everybody has a name
There’s an army of compassion That arises in the land They are ready as defenders Not afraid to lend a hand For the fatherless and widow They’ll protect, provide and care And their joy is in the giving To be the answer to a prayer
Chorus: Army of Compassion Knows no limits to their love Sure as the darkest night Must break for dawn There’s a heavenly residue Wherever they have gone
There’s an army of compassion that arises in the land to bring justice, to bring freedom To every woman, every man On a quiet quest for victory They will give their lives away So that others won’t be wanting Where there’s a will, there is a way
Army of Compassion…. You Reined Me InLyrics: Mario Woodruff & Solveig L. Henderson, 2001 Music: Mario Woodruff & Solveig L. Henderson, 2001 Mario is a young African American man, whose life became a part of ours a few years ago, when he was both homeless and “familyless”. A December morning in 1991, we wrote this song together in our living room. He is now a part of our family, and has since written numerous songs, and is on staff of a ministry to homeless youth at the Dream Center in Los Angeles, California.
All of my life I’ve fallen from You Been avoiding Your grace and mercy I’ve been unclean, unholy and lost Unworthy of Your great love
But You’re my Rock The Rose of Sharon By Your mercy You reined me in You are my Rock My mighty fortress You washed away my sins
I’ve been a million miles away from the Cross, But now my heart is nailed and I’m home again
You are my Rock and I’m home cause You reined me in In Times of WarLyrics: © Solveig Leithaug Henderson, 2004 Music: © Solveig Leithaug Henderson, 2004 Psalm 32,7:“You shall surround me with songs of deliverance”.
In times of war You are my Peace In the middle of the storm You’re my Gentle Breeze When darkness falls You are my Light Your songs surround me in the night
In times like these I’ll worship You With evil all around You’re Word’s still true Your faithfulness shall carry me The shackles break and I am free
Chorus: Jesus, yes, You are my Prince of Peace Jesus, I love the way You fight for me You surround me with songs of deliverance You surround me in times of war
In times of war I’ll give You praise When the battle rages on I stand by grace Your holy angels You command To be my guard until the end Holy, HolyLyrics: Solveig L. Henderson, 2004 Music: Solveig L. Henderson, 2004 Revelations 4; 2-3 & 8
